Not sure what else to do. Here, you can see a thin provisioned disk:
Which is confirmed by the client as well
Now I inflate the vmdk (makes no difference, PowerCLI or the Datastore Browser)
Once done, the disk should show "Thick" - or "Eager Zeroed Thick" when using the client.
However, it still shows thin in both, PowerCLI and vSphere Client. When you try to inflate again, it confirms that the disk is not thin any more
The only solution seems to be to unregister either the VM or at least just the VMDK, and re-register. This will update the information.
Only reference I found so far is KB 1037619, but it merely states that this error means that the disk is not Thin-Provisioned.
Another reference I found online is this :
http://virtual-stones.stonemountains.nl/2013/04/sphere-client-shows-wrong-disk.html
This however states that the information changes once the VM is powered on. This I cannot confirm, it still shows "Thin" until I de-register / register VM or Disk.
Is there any information somewhere as to how to update the UI information once the disk is being inflated ?
