earlier i had windows xp on the physical machine . i then installed vmware 9.0 on it and created 4 vms on it . ubuntu 10..04 .. RHEL 6.. Windows Server 2008R2 and then i did a p2v of the xp ..
later formated the c drive of real physical machine and installed windows 7 x64 ultimate. and then installed vmware 9.0.2 ..
i opened the images that i had earleir created with vmware 9 on xp . and they are damn slow ..
first it takes ages to load them all at the same time .. second as long as they are loading my cpu utilization remains at 100% and .. ram is used as much as i asssigned it ..
second when all the oses are loaded .. its damn slow to switch b/w them and also as long as they are running the real host system becomes very slow and mouse stutters and loading websites in any browser is damn slow .. scrolling is jerky and cpu utilization is above 40 % ..
my specs are dell optiplex 755 system .
cpu : E6550 2.3ghz core2duo. and vt is enabled in bios and also vt-x is chosen in the vmware processesor tab of every os.
ram is 8gb.
it is pertinent to mention that its just a breeze to load the same vmware created images under vbox and they run all at the same time as if just 4 tabs are opened in some browsere .. no affect on either the real system nor on any of the virtual system. nor during the loading of oses phase nor after the oses are loaded . and cpu utilization is also quitle low i think not mroe then 10 %.
it is also pertinent to mention that while i was runnig workstatin in xp 32 bit it was working much better then it is working now in win 7 64bit .. it merits to mention that virtualbox is working flawless and much faster then even the workstaiton in xp did .. i was under the impresssion that worstation is much better then vbox but it seems contrary to my experience .
why is it so ?
and how to solve it .
