Change Cpu count for a catalog VM

I accidentally had a bunch of deployed vapps that were deployed  as 4 cpu instead of 2 cpu.  I wrote a powercli  script to fix the deployed vapp vms.  However I noticed I cannot edit the vms in a cataloged vapp. 

I wanted to avoid deploying the vapp changing the cpu count and re-adding it to the catalog manually.

I tried changing the cpu count in vcenter and them deploying the vapp but the new vapp still had 4 cpus. does anyone know a way to edit a vm in a cataloged vapp?
