ESXi 4.1 -> 5 / VMFS 3 -> 5 migration and live Storage vMotion

Hi Community!

I'm looking at migrating VMs  from 4.1 to 5 and then storage vmotioning them from old VMFS 3 to VMFS 5 datastores.

If the old VMFS 3 datastores are presented to the new ESXi 5 hosts (4.1 can't see VMFS 5 datastores) -

will we be able to migrate using "Change Host and Datastore" (or do the storage vmotion as a last step)?

In other words, can we storage vmotion if the old hosts can't see the new datastores- is it enough that the old datastores are seen by the new hosts?

We don't want to have to power off the VMs for the storage migration.
