How about this one, if it is even doable.
I just got the Satellite S855D. My first order of business was to trash Windows 8, which, fortunately I was able to do in a unique manner, having pulled and saved the original 750GB hard drive, and replacing it with a 480GB SSHD. So the laptop is really jazzed up - nice size SSHD for $300. but this is really besides the point. So I have Win 7 successfully running -everything 100%. I have VMWare installed an set up a Windows 8 VM(It's OK for a VM, but I don't want to really USE it for my main O/S!)
But the virtualization seems to have come between the O/S and the physical machine - I can't access the WIFI from the Windows 8 VM. Tried various Toshiba and Intel drivers to no avail. Any suggestions?
Also - I tried to set up a VM from the recovery media, and it took it, but wouldn't boot. The VM BIOS doesn't seem to have the bootup choice the Satellite has - "UEFI" or "CSM" - is there any way I might be able to get this scenario to work?
And, while here, may as well post a THIRD question - I tried virtualizing the physical machine, but it doesn't see the Toshiba with the original Windows 8 hard drive, even thoough it appears on the network. Any suggestions here, as well?
Thanks much!
