Just installed VSphere Client (5.1 update 1) on a freshly built W7 x64 system (Intel Haswell) and I'm completely unable to connect any USB devices on the host via the VSphere Client to any of my guest machines as the device isn't recognised by the Client.
On my other machines (again W7 x64 but Intel SandyBridge and IvyBridge) there is no problem. When a USB device is plugged in it is recognised as a "VMWare USB Device" (in the Safely Remove Hardware tray icon). But on the new system it always shows as the normal device name never as a "VMWare USB Device" and the device never appears in the list in the "Connect to USB device" in the VSphere Client.
Is this something anyone has come across before? Is it an issue with the new Haswell chipsets? Or am I just doing something really dumb?!
