Expanding data disk in vmware esx server 3

Hi, I havebeen askedby a colleagueif I canbe of assistanceto expandd: \ driveon an existingvirtualwindows2003 server.

They use:

Is itpossible to extendthe diskinvSphereclienten, begin by clickingon the edit\disk and thenexpand the *.wmdkfile from25GBto40gb? After that logginginto the serverand extend thediskusingsomebetterdiskexpandingprogram.
