I am trying to apply an update to a thinapp package using the sbmerge method, and am following the instructions here: A Guide to Updating a ThinApp | VMware ThinApp Blog - VMware Blogs
The problem I am having is that when I try to install the update, I get the following message: "The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch".
So I get that it doesn't see the program in the virtual bubble. I've changed the attributes.ini of the folder where the installer is to Merged from WriteCopy, I've enabled every entry point. Do I need to run the update executable from a specific folder? I've tried to run it in the folder where the windows installer in the package is, but it gives the same result. Can someone point out to me what I am missing? Thank you!
