Hi,

Yesterday I received my score report and I found the unexpected result "PASS".

Yes, it is unexpected result for me  because I did lot of mistake during exam and I was doing study again to retake the exam.

What mistake I did -

When I sat for the exam I was more worried about lab performance, I was enough confident about my skills.

After starting exam I spent first 30 min in reading all questions, this was the biggest mistake I did during exam, due to this I was not able to complete all questions.

Did not understood the questions correctly and did misconfiguration.

When the question asked for working on Host A, I use to work on Host B. After noticing this I had to work on correct host and undo the changes on another host. I did this for couple of questions

I would suggest others don't waste time in reading all the questions at once. Read the first questions and work on it else go ahead for next one.

You can come back to previous question if you want to work on it.

Use the Putty and vSphere client from first desktop to connect vCenter/Host.

When taking remote desktop of other servers, don't switch windows frequently.

Don't................Don't depend on VMware documentation this will eat your time. Also don't refer the document until that is the last option to get the passing score.

Easy Vs Hard........

if you have enough experience on vSphere  and performing Troubleshooting, configuration task day to day then this exam is really easy for you.

for me exam was really easy, 90% questions were about what I do day to day.

What is hard and challenging?.... completing all questions in time is a challenge.

Study Document -

if you do google for study guide for dca, you will find hundreds of blog and you will get confuse which one to refer and which is good.

there is lot more to read.

the best study path is lab it....do it again n again.

Best Study guide -

Read the blueprint and understand the objectives of the exam.

Using blueprint you can create your own practice questions.

Jason Langer & Josh Coen has done very good job. Many Many thanks to you Guys.

This blog is also helpful http://thefoglite.com/vcap-dca5-objective/

VMware Documentation - read it and know where is what in documentation

Keep following VCAP community...it will keep you updated about exam

Again don't jus read it LAB IT. reading will not help you for this exam.

Its time to go for DCD. am sure I will get my DCD certification in couple of Months..

Thank you,

Haridas
