Hi there,
I run a 6 Hosts vSphere 5.1 cluster right now with different customers.
We have 4 different Networks, Management, iSCSI, vMotion and VM LAN.
Management, iSCSI and vMotion run on own switches, separated from the VM Traffic, just for Performance and Security Reasons.
The VM LAN runs from the strategy separate by each customer by VLANs.
Customer A = 10.0.0.0/24 - VLAN 100
Customer B = 10.0.1.0/24 - VLAN 101
Customer C = 10.0.2.0/24 - VLAN 102
etc.
This means that we add one /24 Subnet and VLAN per Customer on the ESXi Host, Switches and Firewall, which is not necessary normally. Per customer 16 IPs is more than enough, but I don't know an other way to help me out.
Now I got the problem that the ProCurves only support 200 and some VLANs and thats it.
I would like to ask you guys for other strategies running the machines separated from each other without getting low on VLANs but still be safe from the perspective of separationg the customers from each other.
Can you guys give me some advice how to typically do that?
Thank you.
I really appriciate your help.
Best regards,
Dino
