I'm running VMWare Workstation 9.0.2 installed on Ubuntu 13.04, with Windows 8 Professional guest. Applications running on the Windows 8 VM do not show up in the Ubuntu host taskbar as expected. Specifically I am running MS SQL Server Management Studio and MS Outlook applications. When I type ALT-TAB, unity mode Windows applications typically show up as duplicate images of the most recently accessed Windows application, repeated for the number of currently open windows.
So if I have 4 open windows (e.g. MS Outlook main window plus two emails open, plus MS SQL Server management Studio) and the most recently accessed window is an email, an image of that email will display 4 times, once for each open window. Sometimes I get an empty window in the taskbar, or an image of the Windows 8 desktop, for one of the running applications.
Any suggestions on how I might get Windows applications in unity mode to display the correct taskbar image?
Thanks.
