Dear Team,
Planning to upgrade my esx3.5 Update 5 207095 to esx 4.1 Update 3, planning to follow below steps, please correct me if i am wrong.
Procedure1:
1) download "upgrade-from-esx4.0-to-4.1-update03-800380.zip" or "ESX-4.1.0-update03-800380.iso" (please suggest which will be better as i m planning to update with esxupdate command)
2) upload the same on ESX datastore.
3) take latest backup of all running vms and powerofff the same
4) enter host into a maintenance mode
5) take esx hostputty session
6) esxupdate --bundle=/vmfs/volumes/<datastore>/<update folder if created>/<filename>.zip update
7) reboot esx host to take effect
8) power on vms and update vmware tools
Procedure2:
can i refer following KB article to upgarde esx3.5 to esx4.1
Performing an offline upgrade from ESX 3.5 U5a to ESX 4.x (1009440)
In that i have two query.
1) esxupgrade.shscript included in the esx4.1 iso file or need to download seprately
2) is esx3.5 U5 is same esx3.5 U5a (both are same or different)
Need ur asisstance on the same.
