TCP Chimney Offload in Virtual Machine?

Hi,

We are running vSphere 5.1 with EMC CLARiion CX4 as our Storage Array.

Virtual Machine - WIndows 2008R2 with SQL Server 2008.

We encounter the error message "ERROR [08S01] [Microsoft][SQL Native Client]Communication link failure" for a paticular application.  Developer suggests us to follow the instructions mentioned in MS KB942861.

I just wonder whether there will be any improvement if we enable TCP Chimney Offland as the application is running on a VM (Not on a physical machine).

Your advice is sought.
