Hi,
I am setting up an old HP Proliant DL360 G5 server with two 146SAS hard drives, managed by HP Smart Array P400i controller. With RAID 1+0, the logical disk is about 136G. After installing the ESXi server 4.0, vSphere client reported only 51G is available for VMs. See attached snapshot. Back in 2009, on a newer DL360 G6 server, I used the same ESXi 4.0 software and the install only used 2GB of space. What could be using the 80G of hard drive space?
I did notice one difference in how vSphere client reported the datastorage:
On DL360 G5, the client reported the storage as "local VMWare disk...."
On DL360 G6, the client reported the storage as "HP Serial Attached SCSI Disk....."
Any idea what happened to the 80G? Thanks.
