Workstation 9 crashes when I try to edit a certain virtual machine's settings.

I have many virtual machines running on three PCs. When I copy one virtual machine to two of the PCs, on both it runs fine but on the one Workstation 9 crashes when I try to edit this virtual machine's settings. I get the virtual machine settings window and can sometime click on one of the hardware objects but then it locks up and I have to end task. I tried copying it again and running a check disk but no luck. Both PCs have the same and latest update of WS 9. ???
