Hi All,
I am creating a seperate backup network with one nic for our backups. I have one vswitch for our service console and vmkernel with two nics, another vswitch for our VM network and two nics. I have created a third switch and assigned the remaining physical nic available. I have added this nic to our Backup VM that runs Ranger and has our storage share attached. Will this nic traverse the other vswitches and use this nic for backup or do I have to create a new vmnic for the backup network for each VM on the other vswitches? I'm thinking I would have to put this nic on the same vswitch as the service console if I didn't want to add a nic to every VM. I'm trying to isolate the backups to one nic but I don't want to have to add a management nic to every vm.
