Hi,
I have had a search but cannot find anything related to my issue. We are on an secure, restricted network so i cannot post any logs etc but i am hoping someone may have an inkling of what may be our issue.
We have custom built a Windows VM on a RedHat 5.6 32 bit environment (running on a xeon 64 bit system). This has been deployed to our users.
Some users have come back to me with the issue that the VM crashes, then either takes out any option to type or doesn't allow them to use capitalised letters. The VM is frozen and they then have to reboot the entire host (and not just the VM) to get control back. The VM may then run for months without issue.
I cannot find anything that may link each incident to each other. The closest i have had to an idea of what happens prior to the fault is this (quoted form a user's call)...
1. Logged into workstation
2. Launched VM
3. Pressed Ctrl, Alt, Del
4. Moved mouse
5 Had to power cycle workstation to allow normal function
I am aware that there are known issues with Workstation 8 on a Linux 32 bit environment but this relates to v6.x of Red Hat. Is this the case for any version of Red Hat and is there a workround that willl stop the users' systems from freezing and having to be rebooted?
