I need a script to auto logon to guest OS desktop, similar to option in guest customization wizard.
We run scripts at customer sites, live environments, for which 100% verification is needed that the script ran successfully. After a couple of issues with the scripts that have been verifying the success of the changes (1 offs here and there due to failed services within the guest OS verification process, such as RPC errors which can occur for countless reasons), management has requested our service team now log in manually to all systems to verify the scripted changes were worked properly. I am trying to speed this process up by automating the logon process with a specific account.
Ideally, I would like to execute a powercli script to power on the VMs and have a specified account auto login to the desktop. If powercli script doesn't have this option perhaps someone knows a wmi script for powershell that will handle this function. There is an option to log on automatically as admin when deploying a VM from a template using the guest customization wizard, I would copy this code if I knew exactly where it was..
